Missions

At First Alliance Church, we believe that every follower of Jesus should try to understand the heart of God, not just for lost and hurting people in our community, but for those all over the world.

Through our parent denomination, The Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are able to plug into the lives of missionaries and churches all over the world. We regularly pray for the needs of the mission field, we have several of our younger members preparing for overseas ministry, and we recently sent a team of 25 people to Trujillo, Peru to show Christ's love to people through ministries of construction and compassion.

In addition, our church sponsors an annual Missions Conference, at which we interact with missionaries from different fields and learn how to better pray for them and support them in different ways.

Prayer

Our church family takes prayer very seriously. We don't just pray for God to bless our work. We consider that prayer is our work, and possibly the most important one we perform!

In addition to our regular Wednesday night prayer meeting, we have significant opportunities for group prayer in our worship services, Sunday School classes, and Small Group meetings. We also hold occasional “concerts of prayer,” usually on a Sunday night, when the whole congregation is invited to come before the Lord in intercessory prayer and worship, usually directed toward a particular theme.

Our worship service features a "Garden of Prayer," a special time of worship when we invite anyone with a special need to come to the altar and pray while we're singing, maybe alone, maybe with a friend, and maybe with one or more of our elders. We've seen God touch the lives of many people with guidance, encouragement, and healing during this time.

If you'd like someone at the church to pray for you, we invite you to contact us. Just e-mail the Senior Pastor or the church office.
