Paul Titus - Senior Pastor

Hi, I'm "Pastor Paul." I've been at First Alliance since 2002. I'm married and have two boys in the youth group. I love music (I play the sax and the piano) reading, and a good game of tennis, when I can find one.

Here are some of my "qualifications"...
  • I grew up in Western Massachusetts, which qualifies me to be called a Yankee (even though I root for the Red Sox).
  • I graduated from Duke University in 1988. That qualifies me to coach kids' b-ball teams -- and to suffer endless abuse at the hands of a church mostly full of UNC Tarheel fans.
  • Before entering the ministry, I worked for four years as an electrical engineer in the D.C. area. That qualifies me to fix the office computer network whenever it goes on the blink.
But seriously, even while preparing for a technical career, I sensed God calling me to something different. In 1994, Dawn and I followed God's leading to seminary and then to the pastoral ministry, where we've been for over 12 years. God has given me a love for His Word and a passion for seeing people restored and strengthened by Jesus as they learn how to apply the truth of the Bible to their lives.

Ben Landes - Youth Pastor

Hey y'all this is Ben. By God's grace and mercy I am the youth pastor at First Alliance. I'm 24 years old and a graduate of Toccoa Falls College with a degree in Youth Ministry. I have been known to enjoy a good cup of coffee, a hard workout at the gym, a good story, a good laugh, and a good hug.

What do I love? Well, a good round of disc golf (if you don't know what that is you need to get out more:), my lovely wife - Ashley, my parents, my fellow workers, the camera men, my producers. . . no, seriously, I love Jesus. I desire to know Him more and to make Him known. That love for Him is why I am a youth pastor – because I desire to see students fall in love with Jesus and commit their lives to following Him.




Rhonda Glidden - Secretary

I've been the secretary at First Alliance Church since 1983. Originally from Ohio, I'm a proud "Buckeye" and a converted, avid Duke fan!!

My husband Allen and I attended high school together in Ohio and began corresponding when Allen was serving in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. We were married in 1970 and have two boys, Frank and Tim.

Allen and I have been involved in the Christian & Missionary Alliance since 1971, ministering in churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. I've also had various leadership roles in women's ministry at the local and regional levels.

In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors, playing various sports, playing the accordion and riding my motorcycle (but not at the same time).




Sharon Shoaf - Administrative Assistant

After having served with ministries in Florida and Tennessee along my husband Larry, I have been involved with church administration for seventeen years. I am grateful to serve on our church staff with individuals who love God as they seek His will. Alongside my duties as administrative assistant, I enjoy people. . . working with them, teaching and encouraging. One of my scriptural goals is Hebrews 12:15, "See to it that no one misses the grace of God. . . ".

I have two children and four adorable grandchildren. . . just ask me how adorable they are! My other interests are reading, music, and co-piloting the 1927 Chrysler Roadster.
