Making and Mobilizing Disciples

for God's Glory and our Joy

in Davidson County and the World.

Who we are

We are a community of believers who are passionate about following Jesus and living out His teachings in our daily lives. We are part of the Christian and Missionary Alliance, a global movement of churches committed to fulfilling the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel and making disciples of all nations.

Our church is made up of people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences, but we are united as a family through the redeeming work of Jesus. We come together with the common goal of seeking God and making Him known. We believe that the church is more than just a building - it's a family, and we strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcomed, loved, and valued.

At First Alliance, we are dedicated to teaching and preaching the Bible as God's authoritative word. We believe that the Bible is the foundation of our faith and the guide for our lives. We are committed to following Jesus' example of love and compassion, and we seek to extend that love to those around us, both inside and outside of our church community.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to be his hands and feet in our community and in the world. We are committed to serving others and sharing the hope and love of Christ in practical ways. From outreach projects to community service, we are always looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of those around us by showing them the beauty of who Jesus is and what he has done for them.

Whether you're new to the faith, searching for answers, or looking for a church family to call home, we invite you to join us. We would be honored to welcome you and walk alongside you as you seek to grow in your relationship with Jesus.

Core Beliefs

There is one God,(1) who is infinitely perfect,(2) existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(3)

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.(4) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.(5) He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust,(6) as a substitutionary sacrifice,(7) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.(8) He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures.(9) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.(10) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.(11)

The Holy Spirit is a divine person,(12) sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer,(13) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.(14)

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.(15)

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God:(16) he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature,(17) are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.(18) The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment;(19) and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.(20)

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.(21)

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly,(22) being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.(23) This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.(24)

Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body.(25) Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age.(26)

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, (27) which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.(28) The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.(29)

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life;(30) for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.(31)

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent(32) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial.(33) This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.(34)

Core Values

As a church, we believe that our primary calling is to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are committed to providing opportunities for people to grow in their faith, develop meaningful relationships with other believers, and serve others in love. We believe that every believer has a role to play in making disciples, and we encourage and equip people to use their gifts and talents to serve others and advance the kingdom of God.

The Christian & Missonary Alliance

The Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) is a Protestant denomination that was founded in 1887 in the United States by A.B. Simpson. Today, the C&MA has a presence in over 80 countries and territories around the world, with a total membership of over 3.8 million people.

Beliefs & Doctrines:

The C&MA's beliefs and doctrines are based on the Bible as the inspired and authoritative Word of God. The denomination emphasizes the importance of personal faith in Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation, and the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

The C&MA affirms the historic Christian creeds, including the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. The denomination also affirms the fourfold gospel, which includes Jesus Christ as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King.

The C&MA places a strong emphasis on evangelism and missionary work, with the goal of spreading the gospel to all nations. The denomination supports a variety of ministries and initiatives around the world, including church planting, leadership development, community outreach, and relief and development.

Structure & Governance:

The C&MA is governed by a board of directors, which includes both clergy and lay leaders. The denomination is divided into districts, which are overseen by district superintendents. Each district includes a number of local churches, which are led by pastors and lay leaders.

The C&MA also has a number of specialized ministries and organizations, including Alliance Women, which focuses on women's ministry and missions, and Envision, which provides opportunities for young adults to engage in cross-cultural missions and leadership development.

Worship & Practices:

The C&MA's worship practices are diverse and include traditional hymns, contemporary praise and worship music, and a variety of other musical styles. The denomination also emphasizes prayer and the study of Scripture as important aspects of worship.

C&MA churches practice two ordinances: baptism and communion. Baptism is viewed as a public declaration of faith and a symbol of the believer's identification with Christ's death and resurrection. Communion is viewed as a commemoration of Christ's sacrifice on the cross and a symbol of the believer's ongoing spiritual nourishment.
