This is Your Year!

Whether you've never read through the entire Bible or it's something you do every year, we want you to join with the rest of your First Alliance church family and commit 2025 to be the year that you read all of God's word.

Starting January 1st, the FAC family will be reading chronologically through the Bible using "The Bible Recap" as our guide, and we would love for you to do it with us.

  • How long does the Bible Recap Challenge last?
The Bible Recap is designed so that you read through the entire Bible in 365 consecutive days.
  • How much time does the Bible Recap take each day?
The daily scripture readings generally take around 15 minutes to read and the daily video/podcast commentary is usually around 10 minutes.
  • What if I miss the January 1st start date or fall behind?
It’s ALWAYS the right time to start reading your Bible! We recommend you start the reading plan with Day 1 (Genesis 1-3) no matter what time of year you join us. Much of the podcast builds on earlier pieces of information, so you'll get the most out of your time in God's word by starting at the beginning instead of jumping in on the current day. If you start late or fall behind and want to catch up, it's perfectly fine to read multiple days at a time. We just don't want you to miss out on any of God's word by skipping sections to catch up.
  • Do I need to use a specific translation of the Bible?
Nope! We want you to read in whatever translation works the best for you. Some of our favorite translations for daily Bible reading are the ESV, CSB, and NIV.
  • What resources do I need to participate?
The most important aspect of the Bible Recap is spending time each day in God's word. At the most basic level all you need to participate in this 365 Day Bible reading challenge is your Bible and a list of the daily reading schedule (available here). However, there are a ton of optional resources to help make your time doing the Bible Recap as beneficial as possible . See the "Bible Recap Resources" section below for links to everything that's available. We recommend at least doing the daily Bible reading and watching the daily commentary video.
  • I've never heard of The Bible Recap, is there somewhere I can learn more about it?
Absolutely! Find out all about "The Bible Recap" and it's author Tara Leigh-Cobble on their website.

It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

- Matthew 4:4

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.

- Isaiah 40:8.

So Jesus said to those who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples,

-John 8:31.

TBR Community.jpg

All throughout the Bible we find example after example of people living out their Christian life and growing in their relationship with God alongside other people.

For Christians, discipleship happens in the context of community. So, we want to provide an opportunity for the FAC Family to not only spend this next year in God's word, but in God's word together. These groups provide community, insight, and accountability as you delve through scripture with other brothers or sisters.

We believe, for many members of our FAC Family, that God is calling you to a commitment to read his word and gather weekly with a Discipleship Group to talk through what you've read that week.

If you are interested in being a part of one of these weekly groups, please fill out the for by clicking on the button over to the right.
