Discipleship Happens in Community

At FAC, we place a high priority on discipleship and believe that it is essential for every believer to help others find and follow Jesus. This is why we have created D-Groups. D-Groups are intimate and intentional small groups of 2-4 people who are committed to growing in Christlikeness through studying God's Word, mutual accountability, mentorship, prayer, and transparency.

These gender-specific groups meet for a set period, usually 6-12 months, and focus on cultivating deep friendships, spiritual disciplines, holding each other accountable, pushing one another toward godly living, and making disciples with those around us who do not yet follow Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The beauty of D-Groups is their flexibility, as they can be adapted for any type of schedule or location, whether at the church or out in the community.

Our desire is to follow Jesus' mission to be disciples who make disciples, and we believe that D-Groups are a powerful way to make this happen. As we invest in one another and send each other out to do the same with others, the Kingdom of God will expand to all people in all places.

We believe that fully trusting and following Jesus in obedience does not just casually happen and that we need a few people who have access to our lives, who we are honest with, who will commit to helping us, building us up, and walking with us in this relationship as a disciple of Jesus. A D-Group offers the best environment for this to happen, with the necessary depth, intimacy, and accountability for us to grow as disciples of Jesus.

Joining a D-Group is not about being a student of a teacher, but it's about following someone who is following Jesus. It's about sharing life and growing in faith. Jesus discipled 12 men in this way, and Paul and the apostles followed his method. We believe that we can do the same as we seek to grow in our faith.
