What to Expect at FAC

Visiting a new church can be intimidating if you don’t know what to expect. Here are some answers to some of the most common questions people have:

What should I wear?

We believe that God cares more about the condition of our hearts than the clothing we wear. We have a relaxed atmosphere and want you to feel comfortable and welcome. You'll find a variety of styles of dress among our attendees, with some choosing to dress up in suits and dresses and others opting for more casual attire such as jeans and t-shirts. We want you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in so that you can focus on worshiping God and connecting with others..

What style of music do you have?

At FAC, we value the content of our worship more than the style of it. We use a modern praise band to lead the musical aspects of our worship. The music we sing when the church gathers for worship is a mix of modern worship songs and familiar hymns. Our focus is on choosing music that is God-focused, biblically rich, and gospel-shaped, regardless of the generation it comes from. Our desire is to let the word of Christ dwell in us richly as we admonish one another with songs, hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16). Whether you prefer a contemporary or traditional style of worship, we invite you to come and experience the presence of God through music and song at FAC.

How early should I show up?

We recommend arriving 5-15 minutes before the service starts, especially if you have kids to check-in. This will give you enough time to grab a coffee and snack from the welcome center before we start. We also would like to encourage you to leave some time before or after service to check out our information wall and connect with one of our hospitality team members or pastors. We want to ensure that you have a stress-free experience and are able to fully engage in worship, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions or seek assistance from our friendly volunteers.

Where do I need to park?

Visiting some churches can feel like going to an airport and not knowing where to park can make you frustrated and distracted before even stepping in the door to worship. At FAC, we have one main parking lot right off of Arnold Rd. Feel free to pull in and take any available space.

What do I do with my kids?

If you're arriving for Sunday School, you'll need to stop at the kids' check-in station where you will be issued a unique child pick-up tag that matches the ID sticker given to your child. One of our friendly FAC Kids volunteers will then direct you to your child's classroom or the nursery (ages 2 and under), where you can directly drop them off with their teacher. After Sunday School, you will also pick up your child from the same room.

If you're coming to our worship service, you'll also check your child in at the FAC Kids station and then head into the gym for worship. We believe it's important for our kids to observe and participate in the corporate worship of God's people, so our programs are designed for families to attend the first half of the service together. When the kids are dismissed for Children's Church, you may accompany your child to the rear of the gym and drop them off with the FAC Kids volunteers. If you have more questions directly pertaining to our FAC Kids ministry, check out the Kids Page or email our FAC Kids Director, Kortney DeHass.
